Roberto De Giorgio
Roberto De Giorgio has got his MD degree in 1984 (University of Bologna) and a PhD in âPhysiology and Pathophysiology of the Exocrine Pancreasâ in 1997 (University of Verona). He developed his academic career in the field of neurogastroenterology, as well as pancreatic and biliary tract innervation. Since 1998 he holds a permanent position at the University of Bologna where he is currently Associate Professor of Internal Medicine. He has been awarded with many research grants fro the Italian Ministry of University, Education and Research (continuously since 2001 to 2010), EU Marie Curie âNeuroGutâ project and from pharma. He is member of several scientific associations and serves as referees of many journals, including Pancreas where he is Associate Editor. He authored and co-authored many research peer-review papers in the field of gastroenterology and pancreatology.
