Dr. Carlo Marchesi
Associate Professor of Psychiatry in University of Parma, Italy.
I was born in Parma in 1956. I am graduated in Medicine and Surgery and specialized in Psychiatry and in Health Statistics. In June 1990 I received tenure as Researcher at the University of Parma and since October 2002 I work at the Psychiatric Clinic of the Parma as Associate Professor of Psychiatry. Since October 2012, I am the Head of Hospital Psychiatric Services, University Hospital and Mental Health Department of Parma. I teach Psychiatry and Clinical Psychology at the Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Nursing, Faculty of Psychology, Faculty of Obstetrics, Faculty of Social Services at the University of Parma. Since September 2012 I am the Director of the School of Psychiatry at the University of Parma.
I received funding for the studies Relationship between neurotransmitters and neuroendocrine function in Depressive Disorders and Alcohol Dependence and Personality Disorders in Anxiety Disorders. I received funding as co-investigator of the Italian Network for Research on Psychoses.
I presented several talks at international conferences, and cooperated with Columbia University, Harvard University, Cornell University, Washington University, University College of London.
I have published 124 papers in international peer-reviewed scientific journals.
I am a reviewer for the English Council for Medical Research, the Italian Ministero dell Istruzione, dell Universita e della Ricerca and for different international scientific journals.
Research interest involve the study of epidemiological, clinical and biological features of mental disorders, particularly Mood and Anxiety disorders.
