Dr. William G. North was born in Bathurst, New South Wales, Australia. Education: B.Sc.: Australian National University, Canberra, 1964. Chemistry and zoology. M.S.(equiv.): University of Melbourne, 1966. Comparative Physiology. Estimations of catecholamines in vertebrate tissues. Ph.D: Departments of Biochemistry and of Physiology, University of Queensland,Brisbane, 1973 Postdoctoral Training And Faculty Appointments: Visiting Research Associate with Dr. Roderich Walter, Department of Physiology and Biophysics, Mount Sinai School of Medicine, New York City. Purification and amino acid sequencing of bovine and human neurophysins. 1973-1974. Honors: Commonwealth Graduate Fellowship, 1967 (awarded but declined offer).
