Biography
Partha Roy Chaudhuri is an Associate Professor of Physics at Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur, India working in the area of Optics and Photonics. In 2001, he did his PhD from the Fiber Optics Group of Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, India. He then pursued postdoctoral research in the Kyoto Institute of Technology, Japan, as a Japanese Government Fellow where he worked on various optical waveguides and components. Later, in 2002, he moved to the Institute for Communications Research, NUS, as a Research Scientist G3 and pursueexperimental research with photonic crystal fibers and components. In 2004, he joined the Faculty of Physics at IIT Kharagpur. He is an author/coauthor of ~77 research papers in international journals and contributed chapters in three books.
 
Research Interest
His current research interst are in the area of microstructured optical waveguides and fibers, photonic crystals and devices and nano-structures/nanophotonics, optical sensing and polarisation-anisotropy imaging.
