|Dr. Cristina Ribas Fürstenau
Associate Professor, Institute of Genetics and Biochemistry & Laboratory of Vascular Biochemistry, Federal University of Uberlândia, Brazil.
|Dr. Fürstenau completed the MSc degree from Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul in Biological Sciences â Biochemistry. Then she pursued Ph.D. from Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul in Biochemistry.|
|Dr. Fürstenau's research interest lies in extracellular hydrolysis of circulating nucleotides by ectonucleotidases â E-NTPDases (apyrases, ATPdiphosphohydrolases, EC 188.8.131.52), E-NPPs (EC 184.108.40.206) and ecto-5ï¢-nucleotidase (EC 220.127.116.11) in different models of arterial hypertension. Also, the modulation of circulating ATP and ADP levels in blood vessels has a great impact on vascular diseases.|
