Medical professional with extensive research experience at global centers of medical excellence in the US and Brazil. Licensed and practicing as a Physician-Psychiatrist in SÃ£o Paulo, Brazil. Research has focused on global mental health, developing prevention strategies for mental and physical health, stress biomarkers in psychiatric disorders, and evaluation of the effects of stress and lifestyle habits on mental and physical health. Experience in coordinating international studies. Led, implemented and studied public mental health programs for disadvantaged populations. Active contributor to national public mental health policy development for Brazilâs National Unified Health System. My goal is to apply my skills and experience toward mental health policy and research to develop innovative and integrative delivery methods that improve mental and physical care to reduce health inequities worldwide. I am particularly interested in evidence-based interventions supported by health technologies to identify and tackle unhealthy lifestyle factors such as stress, physical inactivity, tobacco, and poor nutrition that contribute to increased prevalence of non-communicable diseases and mental health disorders.
