Dr. Ahmed Hammad

Dr. Ahmed Hammad is currently an assistant professor of general surgery, department of surgery, Mansoura University Hospitals, Egypt. Dr. Ahmed graduated Cum De Laude and finished general surgery residency at the same institute then he pursued hepatopancreaticobiliary (HPB) surgery and living donor liver transplant fellowship at Kyoto University hospital for 5 years, Japan during which he concurrently finished his PhD degree from the department of HPB surgery and liver transplant, Graduate School of Medicine, Kyoto University. Dr. Ahmed is expected to pursue another transplant surgery fellowship at the Methodist Hospital, Tennessee, USA next year. Dr. Ahmed research focuses on the nutritional characteristics of liver transplant candidates, the impact of sarcopenia and/or sarcopenic obesity in such patients and perioperative nutritional therapy to improve outcomes in liver transplant recipients.
