Dr Masoud Mohammadnezhad was awarded his PhD in Public Health from Flinders University, Australia, in 2014. Dr Mohammadnezhad has more than 15 years of experience in teaching undergraduate and postgraduate courses in various university settings. He is currently teaching a variety of public health courses at Fiji National University (FNU), where he is an Associate Professor of Public Health (Health Promotion) in the School of Public Health and Primary Care, along with being the program coordinator for the health promotion discipline. Dr Mohammadnezhad is very interested in doing research in different areas of health issues such as non-communicable diseases (NCDs), global health issues, health risks and determinants of said risks.
Research Interest
I am a dedicated, creative and skilled public health advocate with a sound research background, a strong commitment to community health issues and successful tertiary teaching experience. Some of my research areas and interests are listed below: 1. Conducting individual or collaborative scholarly projects. 2. Identifying sources of funding and contribute to the process of securing funds for own scholarly activities. 3. Extending, transforming and applying knowledge acquired from scholarship to teaching and appropriate external activities. 4. Designing, conducting, and evaluating the qualitative, quantitative and, clinical trials researches. 5. Statistical analysis of data and presentation of the results. 6. Conducting research on cross-cultural health issues. 7. Conducting systematic review and evidence-based studies. 8. Conducting research on Non Communicable Diseases (NCDs) such as cancer, HIV/AIDS, overweigh and obesity, cardiovascular disease and physical activity. 9. Doing research in different settings such as school, church, community, and hospital. 10. Doing research on determinants of health such as alcohol, smoking, unhealthy foods, stress, and physical activity 11. Doing research in different participants such as children, adolescents, adults and elderly people 12. Developing research on Healthy Public Policy and translating the knowledge into the practice.
