Department of Applied Materials and Optoelectronic Engineering, National Chi Nan University (NCNU), Taiwan
Currently, Prof. Chia-Yun Chen is working in the Department of Applied Materials and Optoelectronic Engineering at National Chi Nan University (NCNU) in Taiwan as an assistant professor, starting Aug., 2014. He has more than 35 journal publications in high-quality peer-review journals, including Advanced Materials, Nanoscale, Chemical Communication, Journal of the Electrochemical Society, ChemPhysChem and so on. In addition, he has three approved patents and more than 30 conference publications.
Prof. Chia-Yun Chen received the Ph.D. degree from the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, National Tsing Hua University on Sep. 2009. Before being an assistant professor in NCNU, he worked at Industrial Technology Research Institute, the leading research institute in Taiwan, for two years. After that, he was a postdoctoral scholar in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Georgia Institute of Technology (GT), USA, starting Feb., 2013, and subsequently transferred to be a visiting research faculty in GT , starting May., 2014. Prof. Chia-Yun Chen have more than eight-year experience in fabricating and characterizing nanomaterials, particularly focusing on the synthesis of semiconductor nanostructures (Si, Ge, CNT, TiO2 and Al2O3 mostly) via electrochemical approaches, and applications of thermoelectric as well as photovoltaic devices. In addition, he have also developed the capability in designing, simulating and measuring the electromagnetic properties of optical materials.
