Dr. Atefeh Rabiee, Ph.D., Chemical and System Biology Department, Stanford Medical School, Stanford, USA.

Biography
In 2010 on completion of an MSc in Biochemistry from Tehran- IRAN, Dr. Rabiee moved to Denmark where she has first started her research in the field of fat biology. In 2014, Dr. Rabiee received her doctorate in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from University of Southern Denmark under the supervision of professors Susanne Mandrup and Øle Nørregaard Jensen. Her PhD was focused on transcriptional regulation of adipocyte differentiation applying integrated OMICS approaches including genomics, transcriptomics, and proteomics. She completed three years of postdoctoral training in the laboratory of assistant professor Brice Emanuelli and professor Juleen R. Zierath at Copenhagen University, Center for Basic Metabolic Research, Section of Integrative Physiology. During her postdoc, Dr. Rabiee´s research was mainly focused on adipocyte function and metabolism both in vitro and in vivo. Dr. Rabiee was a recipient of the Novo Nordisk Visiting Scholar Fellowships at Stanford Bio-X and she is currently working as visiting research scholar/postdoc at Stanford University, Medical School, Chemical and System Biology Department. She is applying adipocyte single cell analysis to investigate the molecular mechanisms linking signaling, chromatin-remodeling, and differentiation in the context of diabetes, obesity.

Research Interest
Fat cell biology, cell differentiation, cell signaling, insulin signaling, glucose and lipid metabolism; metabolic disorders mainly obesity and type 2 diabetes, integrated ?omics technologies including: proteomics, phosphoproteomics, interactomics, genomics, and transcriptomics
