Biography
Arno von Ristow, born in Brazil in 1949. Graduated in Medicine in University of Rio de Janeiro in 1972. Residency in Vascular Surgery in Brazil and in Germany. Board Certified in Vascular Surgery, Interventional Radiology and Endovascular Surgery. Currently Professor of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery of the Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro and Director of Centervasc-Rio. Has edited or co-edited nine textbooks, written 62 book chapters and published over 70 papers in Vascular Surgery to date. He has participated in over 200 Congresses, acted as moderator in over 200 scientific sessions and presented over 700 conferences. Under his direction, 50 residents had achieved training in vascular surgery and, more recently, 15 fellows in endovascular surgery. Member of most important scientific societies of Brazil and abroad, has served as member of the board in many occasions. In 2013, was elected Member of the Brazilian Academy of Medicine.
