A glycoprotein alpha amylase inhibitor (α-AI),molecular weight of 8.3 kDa, wasisolated and purifiedfrom seeds of Withania somnifera(WSAI), an important indigenous medicinal plant. It isthermostable and non-competitive type inhibitorof fungal amylase.
