Yoga is a form of physical, mental, and spiritual practice or discipline which originated in ancient India. The term Yoga is derived from the Sanskrit word ‘yuj’ which means ‘to unite or integrate’ and is a 5,000-year-old Indian body of knowledge. The Yoga poses are great to strengthen, relax the body and harmonise the body with the mind and breath through the means of various breathing exercises, yoga poses (asanas) and meditation.
Meditation is the journey inwards, a journey of self-discovery or, in a way a re-discovery of yourself. The art of practising yoga gives us the power to respond to situations, rather than just reacting to them. We begin to live with harmony, we create better and happier, healthier relationships and change our lives in a most positive way.
