Choroidal melanomas are one of the commonest intraocular tumors can be benign malignant pigmented or non-pigmented more common in whites as compared to blacks prevalence 6 per million in u s a 7.5 per million in Denmark and other Scandinavian countries they have an early tendency ti metastasize in liver however if diagnosed and treated in time one can prevent liver metastasis they are 80 percent choroidal 12 percent involve ciliary body and 8 percent involve iris difficult to diagnose due to their atypical presentations however in most of cases are seen as solid or exudative retinal detachment on ophthalmoscopy and b scan ultrasound malignant melanoma of ciliary body yield poor results they have different presentations depending upon site which can be 1 ant to lens 2 involvement of angle of filtration 3 vitreous involvement 4 sometimes severe ocular pay may be only presentation 5 very rarely may present as severe fatigability loss of weight and appetite with loss of control of bleared if tumor is ant to lens presenting features are 1 blurred vision 2 paracentral scotoma payless and progressive loss of vision 11 if tumor involves angle of filtration present as a c glaucoma aa c glaucoma sec glaucoma ocular hypertension even ch uveitis 111 if vitreous is involved presenting features are vitreous floaters second ophthalmic article.
