Biography
Dr. Md. Abdul Kader earned Bachelor of Science in Fisheries and Master of Science in Aquaculture from Bangladesh Agricultural University, Bangladesh in 2001 and 2003, respectively. Then, he started his career as a Fisheries Extension Officer in 2003. Soon, in 2004, he joined as a Lecturer in S.F.M. Fisheries College, Bangladesh. Dr. Kader completed a second Master of Science degree in the field of fisheries science at Kagoshima University in 2008. In 2011, he successfully completed Ph.D. from the same university. He was promoted to Assistant Professor in 2010 in his home institute. In 2012, he has appointed as an Assistant Professor in Kagoshima University, Japan. From 2013 until now, he has been serving as senior lecturer in School of Fisheries and Aquaculture Sciences, Universiti Malaysia Terengganu, Malaysia. He has been working in the field of aquatic animal nutrition for the past 15 years. His research interests are sustainable aquafeed, alternative protein sources, nutritional physiology, nutritional immunology and nutrigenomics. He published several scientific articles in reputed, peer-review journals and awarded few prestigious scientific awards and fellowships in recognition of his contribution in the field. He wishes to continue research and academic activities for the wellbeing of humanity and has urged to join hands together for a better world!
Research Interest
Dr. Kader is an expert of Aquatic Animal Nutrition. Past couple of years, he has been working in the field of nutrition of freshwater, brackish water and marine fish and shrimp species. His particular research interest is aqufeed technology which includes alternative protein sources, environmental friendly aquafeed, healthy aquafeed, cost-effective and sustainable aquafeed development. He has also particular interest on nutritional physiology, nutritional immunology and nutrigenomics for aquatic animals.
