PREVENTION OF MOTHER TO CHILD TRANSMISSION (PMTCT)

Mother To Child Transmission (MTCT) account for about 90% of Infants and Young Children HIV infections and about 10% of HIV transmission globally.MTCT accounts for the vast majority of infections in children 0-14 Antiretroviral treatment (ART) and other interventions can reduce risk of MTCT from 45% to below 5%. Preventing HIV transmission from a woman living with HIV to her baby. Providing appropriate Treatment, Care and Support to mothers living with HIV and their children and families. Finding Loss to follow-up Early Infant Diagnosis. Support to programs that address the specific vulnerabilities and difficulties that women.Emphasis on Promoting Male involvement and couple .Pharmacist The Way forward of PMTCT programming.
