Abstract
Oxidation of Methyl p-tolyl sulfide Mediated by 3-ethoxy-1, 2-benzisothiazole- 1,1-dioxide using Various Bases in the Presence of Hydrogen peroxide
The oxidation of methyl p-tolyl sulfide to the corresponding sulfoxide is discussed using hydrogen peroxide which is very environmentaly friendly primary oxidant by saccharin derivative, 3-ethoxy-1,2- benzisothiazole-1,1-dioxide. Meanwhile, the oxidation was examined in the presence of variety of organic bases.
