Microwave Assisted One Pot Synthesis of Substituted Dihydropyrimidine-2(1H) ones using 5-sulphosalicyclic acid as a Catalyst

An efficient microwave assisted one pot synthesis of Dihydropyrimidine-2 (1H) from aldehydes, diketones and urea/thiourea using 5-sulphosalicylic acid as a catalyst is described, compared to classical Biginielli reaction the new method has advantage of good yield and short reaction time
