Psychiatry

Psychiatry is a specialized medical practice dedicated to the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of mental disorders. These include various mal-adaptations related to mood, behavior, cognition, and ideas. See a list of psychology terms.

The first psychiatric evaluation usually begins with a case history and a psychiatric evaluation. Physical examination and psychological examination can be performed. Occasionally, using neuroimaging or other neurophysiological techniques. Bipolar disorder is usually diagnosed according to medical terms listed in diagnostic books such as the International Classization of Diseases (ICD), edited and used by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the widely used Diagnostic and Statistical Manual, published by the American Psychiatric Association (APA ). The fifth edition of DSM (DSM-5) was published in 2013 that redesigned the major categories of various diseases and expanded upon the previous edition to include information / insights relevant to the current research.
