Peer Reviewed Journals In Leukaemia

Leukemia is a group of leukemia that usually starts in the bone marrow and results in a large number of abnormal blood cells. These blood cells are not fully developed and are called inflammation or leukemia cells. Symptoms may include bleeding and bruising, feeling tired, fever and a higher risk of infection. These symptoms occur due to lack of normal blood cells. The diagnosis is usually done by a blood test or marrow biopsy.

Risk factors include smoking, ionizing radiation, other chemicals (such as benzene), previous chemotherapy, and Down syndrome. People with a family history of leukemia are also at higher risk. There are four main types of leukemia - acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL), acute myeloid leukemia (AML), acute lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) and chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) and other rare types. Leukemias and lymphomas are both members of a broad group of tumors that affect blood, bone marrow, and the lymphoid system, known as tumors of the hematopoietic and lymphoid tissues.
