The Journal Impact Factor (JIF) is a benchmark that reflects the average number of references in journals, books, copyright documents, in thesis, project reports, newsletters, conference / conference proceedings, online publications, notes and any other allowed documents. It measures the relative importance of journals within its field, with high-quality journal articles being considered more important than the lower ones. Journal Impact items are calculated on a yearly basis / quarterly / quarterly / monthly basis for those journals shown in the Journal Reference Reports (JRR).
