Community-based medical interventions can be classified into three categories: primary health care, secondary health care, and primary health care. Each category focuses on a different level and the way to the community or group of people. In the United States, public health is based within the realm of access to health care. Basic health care programs aim to reduce risks and increase health and safety improvements. Secondary health care is related to "hospital care" where primary care is provided. Higher health care refers to more specialized care that includes the management of disease or disability.
