Rehabilitation is the process of re-educating and arresting offenders. It usually involves psychological methods that are specific to disciplinary action related to specific types of crimes committed by specific perpetrators - but may also include general education such as literacy and vocational training. The purpose is to re-integrate criminals and re-enter society. Successful rehabilitation of a prisoner also benefits if convicted persons are not exposed to life-threatening conditions, enjoy access to medical care and be protected from other forms of abuse, be able to maintain relationships in the outside world, learn new life-skills, work out, enjoy clear and detailed legal rules that define effective safety practices and regulates the use and disposal of any data record pertaining to criminal matters.
