Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a prevalent, and yet a poorly understood disorder that constitutes the commonest endocrinopathy of reproductive years. There exists heterogeneity in the clinical presentation, and pathophysiological underpinnings are varied. Insulin resistance is recognized as a contributor to the endocrine and metabolic milieu of PCOS. Management strategies are individualized to address the symptom burden, as well as to harness the covert risks that are well recognized in this this population. A small repertoire of natural supplements and vitamins has been examined for therapeutic potential in PCOS populations, with some promising results. Existing data on therapeutic benefits of vitamin D as well as certain nutraceuticals which will be shared in this presentation. lubna.pal@yale.edu
