Abstract

Beside dental caries, Molar Incisor Hypominerlization (MIH) is considered the second most prevalent oral health problem affecting children worldwide. Although it is of unknown aetiology, there are many possible causative factors. Permanent first molars could possibly be compromised at time of their eruption leaving the patient to suffer of sensitivty and a very challenging management. The presentation will give an overview of MIH, diagnosis and tratemtent options in children. Learning objectives: at the end of the presentation, attendees will be able to: Diagnose Molar Incisor hypoinerlization, Know the possible aetiological factors of MIH, Identify signs and symptoms of MIH, Early manage MIH, Know when to refer to specialists.
