Abstract
Synthesis and Pharmacological Study of Some Novel Pyrimidines
A series of novel pyrimidine derivatives were synthesized from chalcones and evaluated for their pharmacological activities. Chalcones were prepared by treatment of Furan-2-Carbaldehyde with different acetophenones by Claisen-Schimidt Condensation. Various Pyrimidine derivatives were prepared by reaction of Chalcone with Urea, Thiourea and Guandine HCl in ethanolic sodium hydroxide. The structures of the newly synthesized Pyrimidine derivatives have been established on the basis of their spectral data. The synthesized selected compounds were evaluated for their anti-inflammatory and analgesic activity.
