Skill to understand healthcare instruction

Health literacy is that the ability to get, read, understand, anduse healthcare information so as to form appropriate healthdecisions and follow instructions for treatment. There aremultipledefinitions of health literacy, in part, because healthliteracy involves both the context (or setting) within whichhealth literacy demands are made (e.g., health care, media,internet or fitness facility) and also the skills that folks wake thatsituation. Since health literacy may be a primary contributingfactor to health disparities, it's a continued and increasingconcern for health professionals.
