Abstract

Research in Cancer Cells

PSA (prostate specific antigen) is an oncological marker used
for the diagnosis and prognosis of prostate cancer and other
conditions such as BPH (benign prostatic hyperplasia) and
prostatitis. It is produced by the prostate's columnar epithelium.
PSA is a member of the kallikrein gene family, which is located
on the long arm of chromosome 19 at locus q13.2-q13.4. PSA
levels differ from person to person.
