Abstract

Ozone and stem cell a possible cure for Rheumatoid Arthritis

Rheumatoid arthritis also known as RA is a long-term autoimmune disease that primarily affects joints. It typically results in warm, swollen, and painful joints. Pain and stiffness often worsen following rest. Most commonly, the wrist and hands are involved, with the same joints typically involved on both sides of the body. Among all arthritis RA is worst kind arthritis.it causes joint pain with swollen fingers and toes. RA is progressive disease. It starts with joint pain. Slowly it worsens and reach to the stage of deforms of hands and legs. In an autoimmune disease, the immune system mistakenly sends inflammation to your own healthy tissue. The immune system creates a lot of inflammation that is sent to your joints causing joint pain and swelling. If the inflammation remains present for a long period of time, it can cause damage to the joint. This damage typically cannot be reversed once it occurs. There is no cure for RA. The goal of treatment is to improve your joint pain and swelling and to improve your ability to perform day-to-day activities. Starting medication as soon as possible helps prevent your joints from having lasting or possibly permanent damage. No single treatment works for all patients. Many people with RA must change their treatment at least once during their lifetime. Ozone: Oxygen-ozone (O3) therapy serves as an alternative medical technique that ... in the treatment of musculoskeletal disorders such as rheumatoid arthritis. Rheumatoid arthritis is characterized as an autoimmune disease where the body's immune system attacks the joints instead of bacteria and viruses. The syndromes include hyperplasia of synovial cells, excess synovial fluid, and forming pannus which can damage joint deformities and articular cartilage. The etiology for rheumatoid arthritis is still not understood. The common treatments are immunologic purging, advanced surgical treatment, and drug therapy. However, Ozone therapy is a new treatment in treating rheumatoid arthritis can overcome these limitations at a certain level. Ozone therapy has been proposed as an immune modulator and cellular metabolic activator which shows long-term anti-inflammatory effects and serves to reduce further the pro inflammatory factors. Previous research has showed that O3 can reduce the activity of TNF-α in the inflammatory tissues and suppress synovial hyperplasia and joint swell in rheumatoid arthritis in rats
