Knowledge, Attitude and Practice of Saudi Undergraduate Nursing Students and Intern nurses Regarding Biomedical Waste Management and Influencing Factors.

Background: Nursing students and intern nurses as future nursing workforce should be equipped with adequate knowledge of various steps of waste management for the success of any health care waste management program to protect themselves, safeguard their patients and the community from various adverse effects of the hazardous waste. Objective: The present study was undertaken to assess Knowledge, Attitude and Practice (KAP) of undergraduate nursing students and intern nurses regarding Biomedical Waste Management (BWM). Further, to explore the factors influencing their KAP. Methods: A cross sectional study was conducted at College of Nursing-Jeddah (CON-J), King Saud bin Abdul-AzizUniversity for Health Sciences, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Knowledge, Attitude and Practice of Biomedical Waste Management questionnaire was introduced as a valid and reliable measure to a convenient sample of all undergraduate nursing students (N=150) as well as all intern nurses (N=89) per the academic year 2018/2019
