General anesthesia is a state of complete unconsciousness where patient unable to feel pain or the anesthetized brain does not respond to pain signals or reflexes during medical procedures. For General anesthesia, the patient is dosed with a combination of intravenous drugs and inhaled gasses, commonly called as anesthetics so as to allow adequate surgical access to the operative site.
