Synthesis of some bioactive 4-thiazolidinone derivatives incorporating benzothiazole moiety

Some 2-aryl-3-(substituted benzothiazolyl)-1,3-thiazolidine-4-ones have been synthesized by the reaction of substituted-2-aminobenzothiazole with aromatic aldehyde (benzaldehyde, pchlorobenzaldehyde, anisaldehyde, salicylaldehyde) followed by cyclic condensation with mercapto acetic acid. All the synthesized compounds were characterized by elemental analysis, IR spectra, 1H NMR and Mass spectral studies. These were screened for their entomological (Antifeedant activity, Acaricidal activity, Contact toxicity, Stomach toxicity) and antibacterial activities
