Synthesis, characterization and biological activity of polymeric ligand

Novel ligand based on phenylazo of resorciacetophenonel-Formaldehyde polymer was synthesized by diazotization reaction of resorciacetophenonel-Formaldehyde polymer with phenyl diazoninum salt. Co-ordination polymers of this ligand were prepared with Cu(II),Ni(II),Co(II),Mn(II) and Zn(II) metal ions. All of these coordination polymers and the ligand were characterized by elemental analyses by IR, NMR, number-average molecular weights (Mn ), magnetic susceptibilities and by thermogravimetry. The biological activity of all the samples has also been monitored against plant pathogens
