Synthesis, characterization and antimicrobial screening of some novel heterocyclic compounds derived from chalcone

In the present research work a synthesized series of pyrazole derivatives. The pyrazole derivatives are prepared starting from chalcone and this chalcone were prepared by 4-acetyl-5-methyl-2-(4-methylphenyl)-2,4-dihydro-3Hpyrazol- 3-one condense with various substituted aromatic aldehyde. Further this chalcone converted into pyrazole followed by condensation of chalcone with phenyl hydrazine hydrochloride and semicarbazide hydrochloride in presence of pyridine. The structures of newly synthesized compounds are characterized on the basis of IR, 1H-NMR, Mass spectroscopies and elemental analysis. The newly synthesized compounds were screened for antimicrobial activity.
