A social networking service (also a social network or social networking forum) is an online platform used by people to build social networks or relationships with other people who share similar or professional things, jobs, background or real connections. They can install new information and communication tools, work on computers and laptops, on mobile devices such as tablet computers and smartphones. Described as "websites that guide the creation of a social network to exchange different types of online content," social networking sites provide the opportunity for communication to continue beyond social networks. These computer networks connect members to different networks and can help maintain and develop new social and professional relationships.
