Insomnia is one among the prominent sleeping disorders in which patient suffers from sleeplessness, restlessness, powerlessness to nod off or to stay unconscious. This condition is diagnosed through polysomnographic technique. This is generally categorized under medical or psychiatric disorders who are suffering from poor or inadequate sleep, improper memory, depression, anxiety, and irritability. This disease is mostly seen in elders than old people. It may last up to 2-4 weeks, but varies in patients. Insomnia is broadly divided into primary and secondary insomnia. Primary insomnia doesn’t show any serious impact on patient health but person suffers from sleep disturbance or impaired sleep or prolonged sleep or loss of quality sleep. This shows negative effect on person’s daily working functionalities and feel dissatisfaction, restlessness and irritability.
