Renal arteries usually originate from the left inside of the abdominal aorta, directly below the upper mesenteric artery, and supply blood to the kidneys. Each one is guided across the diaphragm crus, so that almost a right angle is created. Renal artery stenosis, or narrowing of one or both kidney arteries, may lead to hypertension as the affected kidneys release renin to raise blood pressure to maintain kidney perfusion. RAS is usually treated with duplex renal artery ultrasonography. Renal artery papers are open-access journals that aim to release issues bi-monthly and are interested in documenting new cancer-related findings. Open Access papers for Renal Arteries are immediately and freely available on their website, a model supported mainly by fees paid by the author. The alternative for a researcher is to publish a procedure that many scientific journals allow in a conventional journal, where only readers have immediate access but to make the article available on their personal and/or institutional websites. Open Access Renal Arteries poses practical and political problems for researchers, authors, funders and policy-makers alike. A journal is a daily publication intended to advance research even further, usually by reporting on new results.
