Public finances research on the role of government in the economy It is an economic component that evaluates government revenues and government spending by public authorities and corrects one or the other to achieve the desired results and avoid unwanted. The analysis of public expenditure is considered to be threefold: the effects of government on (1) efficient resource allocation, (2) income distribution, and (3) greater economic stability.

M.I.T. Economist Jonathan Gruber has laid out a framework for exploring the broader public finance sector. Gruber proposes that public money should be considered in light of four key questions: (1) When should a government intervene in an economy where there are two main reasons for government intervention, Market failure and redistribution of income and wealth. (2) how can government intervene?
