Pre-licensure Nursing Program

As the ratio of nurses continues to grow and as nurses continue to work as caregivers in the past, improving the educational readiness of today's registered nurses remains a major focus. The American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) recognizes a four-year Bachelor of Science. in Nursing (BSN) as providing the foundation of education and experience needed for today's nurses as they begin their professional career. The AACN reports that because the health care system continues to demand more from nurses, the education they receive should go beyond general areas of focus to ensure nurses have a broad knowledge of topics such as health promotion, counseling, genetic counseling, vaccination, and disease prevention.
