Natural Selection Scholarly Peer-review Journal

Natural selection is a mechanism of evolution. Organisms that are much adapted to their environment are more likely to survive and pass on the genes that aided their success. This process causes species to change and diverge over time. Natural selection is one of the ways to account for the millions of species that have lived on the Earth.

It is a process which results in the adaptation of organisms to its environment by the means of selectively reproducing changes in its genetic constitution or genotype. In natural selection, those variations in the genotype that increase an organism’s chances of survival and procreation are preserved and multiplied from generation to generation at the expense of very less advantageous changes.
