Food Allergies Review Articles

A food allergy is an abnormal immune response to food. The common foods involved in food allergy include:cow's milk, peanuts, eggs, shellfish, fish, tree nuts, soy, wheat, rice, and fruit.The symptoms of the allergic reaction may range from mild to severe. It can include itchiness, swelling of the tongue, vomiting, diarrhea, hives, trouble breathing, or low blood pressure. This typically occurs within minutes to several hours of exposure.When the symptoms are severe, it is known as anaphylaxis. Food allergy is thought to develop more easily in patients with the atopic syndrome, a very common combination of diseases: allergic rhinitis and conjunctivitis, eczema and asthma.

Review articles are the summary of current state of understanding on a particular research topic.They analyze or discuss research findings previously published by scientists  or academicians rather than reporting novel research results. Review article can be in the form of systematic reviews, literature reviews or a form of secondary literature. Systematic reviews determine the objective list of criteria, and finds all previously published original research papers that meet the criteria. They then compare the results presented in these papers. Literature reviews, in contrast, provide a summary of what the authors believe are the best and most relevant prior to publications.
