Dairy cattle are reserved for meat production (as distinguished from dairy cows, which are used to produce milk). Beef or ripe meat is more commonly known as beef. In beef production there are three main categories: calf performance, background production and feedlot performance. The cycle of production of these animals begins in the work of cattle; this work is intended to raise cattle for their offspring. From here the calves have flowers to feed themselves. Animals raised on the feedlot are known as feeder cows, the purpose of these animals is to enrich. Animals that are not fed to the feedlot are usually female and are known as heat shockers. While the main use of beef products is meat production, other uses include skin, and meat products used for sweets, champagne, cosmetics, insulin and inhalers.
