Colostrum Journals

Human colostrum (HC) is the first milk produced after birth and is particularly rich in immunoglobulin (Ig), antimicrobial peptides (lactoferrin and lacto peroxidase) and other bioactive molecule, including growth factors which are important for nutrition, growth and development of newborn infants and also for passive immunity. Bovine colostrum (BC) is produced by the cows during the first several days post parturition. Colostrum is a form of milk which is produced in the mammary glands of the mammals. The colostrum consists of antibodies which protect the newborn from infections and disease conditions. The colostrum provides passive immunity to the newborn. The antibodies inclu.des IgA, IgG and IgM. A journal is a periodical publication intended to further progress of science, usually by reporting new research. Most journals are highly specialized, although some of the oldest journals publish articles, reviews, editorials, short communications, letters, and scientific papers across a wide range of scientific fields. Journals contain articles that peer reviewed, in an attempt to ensure that articles meet the journal's standards of quality, and scientific validity.
