Innovative antineoplastic therapies are gene therapy, laser therapy, application of the nanotechnology (nanoparticles therapeutics), RNA interference therapy, photosensitizer, and hyperthermia. Gene therapy is one of the recent technologies, which involves the insertion of desired genetic material into a Cancerous cell. Immunotherapy may be a new sort of cancer treatment that uses the system to attack cancer cells. Interventional radiology involves minimally invasive techniques using needles and catheters and provides an alternative to surgery for a few patients. Radiation therapy uses high-energy x-rays or particles to kill cancer cells and shrink tumors. In advanced cancer, radiotherapy is usually is not to shrink tumors but to scale back pain or other symptoms, this is often called as the palliative radiation.
