Attention-Deficit Hyperactive Disorder Open Access Journals

Attention deficit/Hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a neurological disorder that leads to behavioral abnormalities such as difficulty in paying attention, following instructions, and social interaction. Researchers have previously worked on the medication for ADH Disorder, keeping in mind that the various other types of psychosocial treatments for ADHD were effective. They found that behavioral peer intervention, which is a type of behavior therapy where teachers train students to assist a child’s positive behaviors, could be effective. The data on using dietary supplements or neurofeedback for treatment of ADHD was too limited to conclude whether they were effective or not. Social skills training, alone, which focuses on children’s ability to interact and communicate with others, was not found to be effective enough. Women suffering from ADH disorder may take respective medicine before they notice theirpregnancy, or may continue with their ADHD medication during pregnancy because it helps with their ADHD symptoms. However, there is very less data available about the safety of taking ADHD medicines during pregnancy.
