Alopecia Areata Incognita Innovations

Alopecia areata, also known as spot baldness, is a condition in which hair is lost from some or all parts of the body. It usually results in a few blemishes on the skin, each corresponding to a coin. Mental confusion may result. People generally have good health otherwise. In a few cases, all the hair on the skin or all the body hair is lost, and the loss is permanent.

Alopecia areata is believed to be an autoimmune disease that results from a breach of the right to the hair follicles. Risk factors include the family history of the condition. Between identical twins when one is affected and the other is about 50% more likely to be affected. This subtle approach involves the body's inability to recognize its cells through central destruction of the hair follicle's protection.

There is no remedy for the condition. Efforts can be made to try to speed up the hair regrowth such as cortisone injections. Sunscreen, a head covering to protect you from exposure and sun, and glasses if eyelash is not recommended. In some cases, the hair comes back, and the condition never returns. In others hair loss and regrowth occur over the years. For those who have lost all body hair, it is less than 10% recovery.
