Tumour Necrosis Factors
These factors are nothing other than protein components of cytokines. These protenaceous cytokines can be grouped on the basis of their sequential arrangement, structural and functional similarities. Tumor necrosis factor (TNF) commonly termed as TNF-alpha or is a monocyte-derived cytotoxin. TNF-alpha can also be termed as “cachectin”, which is implicated in tumour regression, septic shock and cachexia.
