Implantation and Placental Development

Implantation refers to the attachment of the fertilized egg to the uterine lining, which occurs approximately 6 or 7 days after conception (fertilization).The embryo grows and develops a vascular system, it establishes a way of obtaining nutrients and eliminating waste products, and does by establishing an efficient interface between its vascular system and that of its mother.
