Cancer of Eye: Intraocular melanoma (melanoma of the eye) Intraocular melanoma is the most common type of cancer that develops within the eyeball in adults, but it is still fairly rare. Melanomas of the skin are much more common than intraocular melanomas. Melanomas develop from pigment-making cells called melanocytes.

Sympomps of eye cancer

  • Bulging of one eye
  • Bomplete or partial loss of sight
  • Pain in or around the eye (rare with eye cancer)
  • A pale raised lump on the surface of the eye (the conjunctiva or cornea)
  • Blurred vision
  • Change in the appearance of the eye.
