Biliary Trauma

Biliary Trauma to the extrahepatic biliary tract or the gallbladder are infrequent, occurring in approximately 0.5 % of all patients with blunt and penetrating abdominal trauma. Predisposing mechanisms include blunt right upper quadrant force, iatrogenic injury after cholecystectomy. The incidence of this injury due to blunt abdominal trauma is rare.
